Commodity Watch: Copper futures slip on subdued demand

New Delhi: Copper prices fell Rs 1.30 to Rs 1,221.80 per kilogram in the futures trade on Thursday, weighed down by muted demand in the domestic spot market. Copper for April delivery slipped 0.11 per centin 203 lots. Traders said subdued domestic demand from consuming industries weighed on copper prices in futures trade.
Zinc futures ease on weak trend
Zinc prices fell 40 paise to Rs 328.30 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for April delivery slipped 0.12 per centin 78 lots. Analysts said the trimming of positions by participants, owing to slackened demand.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose nearly 1.35 per cent to Rs 353.35 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. The price of aluminium for delivery in April increased Rs 4.70in 113 lots.
